How to create an effective CV

A well-designed CV is your first step toward landing your desired job. I'm sharing some basic tips that will help you create a standout resume.

  • Contact information - Start with your first and last name, phone number, email address, and LinkedIn profile (if applicable).  At the same time, make sure you keep this information up to date;
  • List your employment history in reverse, chronological order. List your job title, company name, location, and dates of employment. Separate points to describe your responsibilities and achievements, focusing on quantitative results;
  • Highlight your skills, experience, and career achievements. Try to tailor your application to the position you are applying for. CV customization techniques - customize your CV for each job application, highlighting the experience and skills that match the job requirements;
  • Education - List your higher education degree along with the name of the institution, location, and date of graduation. You can also add relevant certificates or courses;
  • Additional sections - Depending on your field, consider adding sections on publications, volunteer work, languages, or professional memberships;
  • Correction - Make sure there are no typos or grammatical errors.
    It takes time to create an effective CV so that you can make a great impression on potential employers.
